Where the data comes from, and how we build the models

Aurigrade exists to make ASX drilling legible. Companies publish rich drill data to the market, but it's buried in PDFs as long assay tables. We extract that data and rebuild it as something you can actually explore.

Data provenance

All drill data is compiled from public ASX announcements — the drill-result releases companies lodge with the exchange. For selected Western Australian projects we also draw on WAMEX, the WA government's open-file exploration report library. We add no private, confidential or non-public data. Every parsed hole keeps a reference to its source announcement so any figure can be traced back to the document it came from.

How intercepts are computed

From each announcement we extract drill collars (the surface location, depth and orientation of each hole) and the reported assay intervals. To summarise a hole we composite its intervals: contiguous assays above a cut-off grade are combined into a single reported intercept, quoted as length @ grade. You can change the cut-off in the viewer to see how the picture shifts. Collar coordinates are projected onto the map and into the 3D scene, draped over real satellite imagery and elevation.

The single grade scale

Every view — 3D, cross-sections, the map's colour-by-grade layer, the intercept table — uses one continuous colour scale so a given grade always looks the same: blue below cut-off, through green and yellow, to orange, red and white at the top. This is deliberate: an intercept should read identically wherever you meet it.

Limitations — please read

Disclosure-dependent. Models are only as good as the announcement they're built from. Companies format results differently; some are clean, some are not.
Automated extraction can err. An unusual table layout, a mislabelled grade unit, or a coordinate in an unexpected projection can produce a wrong or missing value. We validate and flag where we can, but errors get through.
Point-in-time. Data reflects what has been parsed and published, not a live feed. A company's newest drilling may not be here yet.
Not a resource estimate. Compositing drill intercepts is not a JORC resource. Nothing here should be read as a mineral resource or reserve.
